Loving Arms - Tom Jans

I was visiting with my sister in Spain, and we would often sit out in the soft evenings and play the guitar and sing a few songs. One night she sang this song, and I fell in love. It spoke to me so strongly that I had to sing it, even though I rarely sing, much less record, other people's material. There are many other covers, but since I learned it from my sister's singing, not from any other recording, mine is perhaps a little different - I hope so!

If you could see me now, the one who said that she would rather roam
The one who said she's rather be alone, if you could only see me now

If I could hold you now, just for a moment if I could really make you mine
Just for a while, turn back the hands of time, if I could only hold you now

I've been too long in the wind, too long in the rain,
taking any comfort that I can
Looking back and longing for the freedom of my chains,
and lying in your loving arms again

If you could hear me now, singing somewhere in the lonely night,
Dreaming of the arms that held me tight. if you could only hear me now

Looking back and longing for the freedom of my chains,
and lying in your loving arms again
Just to lie in your loving arms again,
I can almost feel your loving arms again.
